Well coz of problem i start to think about new pc.
Planning for ~500 euro (coz i dont need extreme pc with lastest harware. I am not hardcore gamer :hehe: )

So ive stopped on this confihuration:

______________________________________________________________
Intel E8500 Core2 Duo 3,16/6M
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3,16GH 6M FSB1333 s775 BOX

Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G s.775
GIGABYTE GA-P43-ES3G P43+ICH10/1333FSB/PCI-Ex16/5xPCI+1xPCI-Ex1/4xDDRII-1200/8-ch audio/6xSATAII/1xPATA/12xUSB/Gb-e LAN/ATX

DDR2 1GB 6400-800 Apacer
DDR2, 1GB PC6400/800 64x 8 CL5.0 APACER (planning for 3GB to system)

1GB Gigabyte 9800GT UD2 Zalman
Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 9800GT 1GB Zalman Fansink UD2 (Ultra Durable 2) GDDR3 256BIT 2xDVI HDTV HDCP 700/1800 DirectX 10 PCI-Exp (GV-N98TOC-1GH)

400GB Samsung SATAII 7200 16MB
Samsung 400GB SATA-II 300MB/s 7200rpm 16MB cache

__________________________________________________________

Few questions:
What is better 1GB 9800GT or 512mb 9800GT. I see difference in memmory, but will it make big difference in perfomance?
1GB Gigabyte 9800GT UD2 Zalman
Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 9800GT 1GB Zalman Fansink UD2 (Ultra Durable 2) GDDR3 256BIT 2xDVI HDTV HDCP 700/1800 DirectX 10 PCI-Exp (GV-N98TOC-1GH)
vs
512MB Gigabyte 9800GT UD2 Zalm
Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512MB Zalman Fansink UD2 (Ultra Durable 2) GDDR3 256BIT 2xDVI HDTV HDCP 700/1800 DirectX 10 PCI-Exp (GV-N98TOC-512H)

1 GB have high price than 512. So maybe better choose 512 ?

___

What difference between c2d e8600 and e8500? Only by stepping and ghz ? Same about e8400 and e8500. Maybe better buy 8400 and overclock it closer to 8600 for example ? Coz c2d have good potential to oveclock.

i dont think you wont find big differences between e8500 and e8600...if you look benchmarks between those 2 processors, you may gain some time in extreme conditions like using Mathematica or Maple in complex calculus.
As you're not hardcore gamer, you neednt to overclock, except if you only want to burn your processor for pleasure and to loose warranty.
concerning memory, if you can, jump directly to 2 or 4Go and take a 64bits OS and sacrifice memory on graphic card. Maybe take DDR3 Ram for your motherboard.
For me, 1Go graphic card will allow you to choose the most detailed graphics in a game with less performance.

Look.. I have GeForce 9800GTX but with 512 MB... i think it is better than 9800GT with 1GB.. My producer is Asus bcs Asus make the quitest graphic card.. :)

I'm very glad that i took my card than 9800GT 1GB.. I think the best way is to buy 9800GTX 512 ;) :!

I think 2GB DDR2 you need for good performance..

I use the E8500, too...and i havent problems with it...I never had fully loaded my processor!

To your gfx...i dont think that it will be a big difference between, a good chip will be more interessting for you!

dude i really would prefer a quad core cpu
4 Cores with 3,0GHz are 15€ cheaper than ur 2 Core solution

http://www.alternate.de/html/product/CP ... uo/Intel(R)/Core_und_trade2_Duo_Prozessor_E8500/234281/?showTecData=true&cmd=showTecData#tabberBox

http://www.alternate.de/html/product/CP ... #tabberBox

3 GB RAM are ok, but with a number of modules that is divideable by 2 (2 modules, 4, 6, 8), u could use dual channel

I don't know any benchmarks of your graphics card, but the following card are the fastest of ati (vapor-x means a special cooler)

I only found this version for 125€
http://www.alternate.de/html/product/Gr ... #tabberBox

Sapphire HD4850 Vapor-X 120€
Sapphire HD4870 Vapor-X 138€
Sapphire HD4890 Vapor-X 165€

I know u dont want a highend machine, but in my opinion u could get more power for free

e.g. i think u could be able to rebuild my machine (dont hesitate pressing it) only with its necessary parts(no special coolers, no air filter, ...) for at least less than 700€, i think about 500-600

cpu: there are no big differences betwenn this two cpus (but im a amd fan :p)

gfx: the most game dosnt profite from a 1gb ram, atm you need 1gb only if you use a realy realy high resolution or you want to play gta4 (gta4 limited the details at lower mb, but dosnt know why

hdd: the best price/performance you will find by the 1tb hdds. and they dosnt cost realy much

but Windows 7 ? Windows Vista ? Windows XP ? Macintosh ? Linux ? :> :D or what ?
my lovely windows SP doesn't read 4 GB RAM, only 3 GB and he doesn't read more than 2 core :P so if you wanna have XP you should buy cheaper 3GB RAM and 2 core processor..

Yesterday I was writed here, but my post disappear

Big part of Ur config is good, but:

1. I will exchange graph card into radeon 4850 (cold and quiet -Gigabyte GV-R4850OC-1GH) Better card, the same price and DirectX10.1 support.

2. HDD take smt with 7200RPM - in polad different beetween 1TB 7200 RPM and 1TB 5400RPM is ~ 5euro, so take faster =) =)
